Grand Staircase Escalante

I have a poster in my office of ‘The Grand Staircase Escalante’. Occasionally my work Mom will come over and we will sit in our chairs facing the poster and take a mini vacation of sorts. It’s a small thing that sometimes keeps me from tipping over the edge of insanity.

Today, we were having a meeting and someone at the meeting made a reference to ‘circling the wagons’. I, to this day, have no idea what the hell that means. Circle the wagons? Is it like, ‘Get your ducks in a row’? I don’t know.

After the meeting, work mammy sent me an email that said.

“Is stairway escalade free of ambushes for wagons?”

I sat and stared at my computer for about two minutes thinking about this not knowing what it meant.

Turns out, that email meant (after clarification):

Just wondered if the grand stairway escalante is available to bring the wagons to. Don’t want any ambushes.

I love talking in code. It makes me feel so much smarter than I actually am.

On a side note… have you ever read any of the notes you used to pass in Junior High or High school as an adult? I read one that was so full of code, I had no idea what I was talking about. I remember someone in my note being referred to as ‘Tomato’. He had red hair.

and i also love
your work mammy...

man when you started talking
about a work meeting i got
all kinds of excited that you
were gonna tell the "ridonkulous'
story...but that would have
just been ridonkulous.

this weather we've been
having is just ridonkulous.

Cory!!! You are awesome. The next time you are in a meeting and you have no idea what is going on Just think of me working with the two Cory's and have yourself a good laugh. I neve knew what you two were up to. Unless you let me in on your little secrets. "We're rootin' for you!"

I love finding and reading notes from junior high. Unfortunately I didn't write them in code so I know exactly what I was thinking then.. I'm so glad I'm a grown up.

lately i am finding it hard to even say things the way they should let alone in some form of code but here goes.

at the monthly gather the girl from far away will get to hang around the COOLEST girl. the girl from far away sure does miss all of the peeps and can't wait for the rolling of the dice!

yep i know that was a bad try but i do miss you all and i can't wait for this weekend.

Hey sweetie, is your mom okay? I sent her a graduation announcement for Patrick and he was kinda sad that she did not send him a card. Do you know if she received it?

I still haven't given up hope. I come around every now and then. And I particularly want to leave a comment (knowing full well it won't be read) because my verification word is "foodee."
