I was saying goodbye to a co-worker the other day. (This was after she quizzed me on whether I was the annoying co-worker or not).
Results: I am a mix. I can’t sit on a good piece of gossip which makes me annoying but I also won’t forward emails to everyone and their dog which calculates to me being only mildly annoying. This doesn’t actually surprise me.
After the quiz I was saying goodbye to her and wished her a good weekend. She wished me the same but then finished it with ‘Be happy’
Wouldn’t it be great if these wishes we had for one another were true. Wouldn’t it be great if because I wished her a good weekend, that she would truly have one. Nothing bad or boring or upsetting would happen on her weekend. And wouldn’t it be great that if she wished me to ‘Be happy’ that I could sit back and let the wish take me over and I could be happy despite… anything.
Be happy with who I am
Be happy with what I do
Be happy with where I am in my life
Be happy with how I feel
Be happy with who I am friends with
Be happy with my family
Be happy with my relationships
I think if I could, I would wish happiness upon every person I care for. At the very end of everything, at the closing of the day, (insert other cliché here), at the very least, I should just be happy.
So that’s what I’m trying to do. Be happy.

If only it were that easy.. at least you have the most amazing friends in the world who love to eat Indian food with you and give you random things like air freshener and face wash and write run on sentences on your blog.
